3 ways to boost your creativity

Maybe you’ve been here before — you finally found some time to get things done, and you’re all fired up and ready to go, but you’re just sitting there, staring at the screen and waiting for some kind of creativity to happen.

It’s like your mind is a blank slate and you can’t seem to find the right words to make something great.

Oh boy, how often have I been in this exact same situation? It’s like the more time you have, the more stressed and anxious you become, because the clock is ticking and that next meeting is already coming up. You know you need to get something done, but you just can’t seem to concentrate or focus on the task at hand.

These 3 ways helped me improving creativity

  • Taking a walk and changing up your environment can be a great way to shift your thinking and get those creative juices flowing. Sitting down somewhere new helps you look at things differently or from a different perspective. This can be a real game-changer as it helps to open up your mind & focus on different aspects of the situation.
By taking a few minutes to change your location, you can open up your brain to new ideas and find innovative solutions that you may never have thought of before. So if you’re feeling stuck and need a different point of view, try taking a walk and exploring a new place. You never know what you might find!

  • Don’t be afraid to step away from the computer and take a break from technology. Grab a blank sheet of paper, close the laptop, and just write down whatever is on your mind. It is helpful to take the time to sketch out some screens with a pencil and paper — you’ll be amazed at the ideas that spring to life! This simple exercise can really help to get the creative juices flowing, and it may surprise you how much progress you make when you take a break from the technology and focus on the task at hand.

  • Accepting it — even when the two solutions above don’t seem to be of much help. I eventually come to terms with it, telling myself that I’ll do it tomorrow. But, sometimes, the next day can still be quite a challenge. In those cases, I feel overwhelmed, crushed by the never-ending pile of tasks that need to be done. However, I’m determined to keep pushing forward and eventually, I’ll get things done.

It doesn’t always has to be a complex way of solving problems or facing challenges. Sometimes easy things like taking a walk or sitting at another desk can improve creativity and increase productivity.
