Innovation inside an established company fails for organisational reasons far more often than technical ones. The new thing competes for attention with the business that pays the bills, and loses. It inherits processes designed for a mature product. It gets reviewed on a quarterly cycle when it needs a weekly one.
So we run this work at arm's length from the core business. A small team, a short cycle, and a real customer in front of it early. The first goal is never a launch, it is evidence. What we know after eight weeks that we did not know before, and what it says about whether to continue.
We bring both halves. The strategic side of shaping the venture and its business model, and the technical side of actually building it. Those usually sit with two different suppliers, which is a large part of why the handovers go wrong.
LEAD Horizon is the clearest example. It went from concept to a national testing programme handling hundreds of thousands of daily users, on infrastructure we built and ran.

What does venture building look like with you?

What does an innovation project cost?
The first phase is deliberately small and scoped to produce evidence rather than a finished product. It is priced as a defined piece of work, and what comes after depends on what that phase tells you. Longer engagements run on a framework agreement.
How long until we see results?
Usually six to eight weeks for the first phase. The goal is not a launch, it is knowing something you did not know before, and having enough evidence to decide whether the venture deserves the next round of budget.
How do you measure success this early?
By what you learn rather than what ships. We agree upfront which assumption the phase has to test and what result would count as a yes or a no. Without that, an inconclusive result gets read as encouragement by everyone involved.
Do you work with our internal team?
Yes, and it usually works better that way. Your people bring the domain knowledge and the access, we bring the pace and the technical side. Part of the goal is that the capability stays with you after the project.
