Docker environments that run the same everywhere

Identical environments. Boring deployments. Built in Vienna.

We containerize applications so the thing that runs on a laptop is the thing that runs in production. Docker, Compose and orchestration, set up for your architecture and handed over documented. Based in Vienna, working with clients across Europe.

LEAD Horizon, Zurich Insurance and epunkt run on infrastructure we built.

Docker Infrastructure for Your Applications.

"Works on my machine" costs more than anyone budgets for. Environment drift between local, staging and production is the quiet source of failed releases, bugs that only appear on Fridays, and developers who spend their week on their toolchain instead of your product. Containers close that gap by shipping every service with its dependencies.

We design the setup around your architecture, whether that is a single application, a set of services, or something in between. Multi-container applications with Compose, container registries, resource limits, and the pipeline hooks that turn a deployment into a non-event. For teams that are growing, we add orchestration so containers can be replaced and scaled without downtime.

Isolation is the part people underestimate. Each service runs in its own container, so a failure or a vulnerability in one component stops there instead of taking the rest of your stack with it.

This is the foundation under most of what we ship. If you want the layer above it, see web development and custom software. If you are still on your own hardware, cloud migration is the step before this one.

What you get with Dotbite as your Docker partner

  • One environment, everywhere. Local, staging and production run the same image.
  • Deployments that stop being events. Pipeline hooks and registries wired up properly.
  • Isolated services. A problem in one container stays in that container.
  • Orchestration when you need it. Scale out and replace containers without downtime.
  • Tuned for your architecture. Monolith, services or hybrid, the setup follows your app.
  • Documented and handed over. Your team can run it, and we stay if you want us to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use Docker instead of running directly on a server?
Because the application then runs the same way everywhere. At Dotbite we containerise so the version on a laptop is the version in production, which removes the class of bugs that only appear after deployment. It also makes servers replaceable, so scaling and moving hosts stop being projects.
What does a Docker setup cost?
It is priced on the actual requirements, which depend on how many services you run and how they connect. We look at your architecture first and quote against a written scope. For infrastructure we keep developing over time, a framework agreement usually fits better than single quotes.
How long does the switch take?
For a single application, usually one to three weeks. Systems with several services, background jobs and legacy dependencies take longer, because the work is in mapping what is actually there. We move in steps so the running system stays available throughout.
Does this work with our existing hosting?
Usually yes. Docker runs on almost any provider, from a single server at Hetzner to managed services on AWS. If your current setup makes containers unnecessarily expensive or fragile, we say so and show what changing would cost against what it saves.
Can our team run this themselves afterwards?
Yes, and we set it up with that in mind. You get the configuration, the pipeline and documentation your developers can work from. Many clients keep us on for the infrastructure anyway, though nothing in the setup depends on us being there.
