A prototype is the cheapest place to be wrong. Changing a screen takes an hour. Changing the same thing after it is built takes a sprint and a conversation about budget. So the more decisions you can move earlier, the less the project costs overall.
We start with wireframes to settle structure and flow, then build a clickable prototype that behaves enough like the real thing that people forget they are testing. Then we put it in front of the users you are actually building for and watch where they hesitate. That hesitation is the most useful output of the whole exercise.
What you get at the end is a validated direction and a build brief that is no longer a matter of opinion. Teams that skip this step usually pay for it later, in features that shipped because someone in the room felt strongly about them.
From here the path is usually UI/UX design and then an MVP. If the questions are about the business rather than the interface, business modeling comes first.

What does a prototype cost?
Considerably less than building the real thing, which is the entire point. At Dotbite we scope it against the questions you need answered and quote a fixed price. Most prototypes are a defined piece of work rather than an open-ended engagement.
How long does prototyping take?
Usually one to three weeks, including sessions with real users. Wireframes come first to settle structure, then a clickable version that behaves enough like the real product that people forget they are testing.
What is the difference between a prototype and an MVP?
A prototype looks and feels real without working underneath, so it answers questions about design and flow in days. An MVP is working software with real data that answers questions about the market. Prototyping first usually makes the MVP cheaper.
Do you test the prototype with real users?
Yes, and that is where most of the value sits. We put it in front of the people you are actually building for and watch where they hesitate. That hesitation is the most useful output, and it rarely matches what anyone predicted.
Can we use the prototype for investors?
