What does custom software development cost?
Every project is priced on its actual requirements. At Dotbite we work those out with you in a requirements phase, then quote a fixed price against the written specification. For systems we keep developing over years, a framework agreement might even make more sense.
How long does development take?
Small applications can be usable in about four weeks. Systems with complex business logic, integrations and many user roles run twelve weeks or more. Scope decides it, which is why we work in phases and put something usable in front of you early.
How does the collaboration work during development?
You see working software throughout instead of a status report. We deliver in phases, each ending with something you can try, and the developers building it are the ones you talk to. Questions get answered in days rather than through a project manager.
Do you work agile or with a fixed price?
Both, and they fit together. The specification defines the scope and the fixed price, the delivery inside it runs in short cycles so priorities can shift. If something genuinely new comes up, we price it separately and you decide whether it goes in now or later.
What do we get at handover?
The full repository, the documentation, the deployment setup and a walkthrough with your team. Everything is yours, with no licence fee and no dependency on us. Most clients keep us on for maintenance because we already know the system, though nothing requires it.
