What does a new website or web app cost?
It depends on what the site has to do. At Dotbite we scope the requirements with you first, then quote a fixed price against the written specification. A presence site sits at the lower end, a customer portal with logins and integrations at the higher one. For sites we keep developing, a framework agreement fits better. For sites we keep servicing after Go-Live, a SLA is the right fit.
How long until the site goes live?
A focused website usually takes four to eight weeks from kickoff, a web application with accounts and integrations longer. Content and feedback rounds on your side are often what decides the timeline, so we agree those dates upfront with you.
What is the difference between a website and a web app?
A website presents information and guides visitors to an action. A web app lets people log in and do work, with accounts, permissions and data behind it. Many projects start as one and grow into the other, so we build with that step in mind.
Do you handle hosting and maintenance?
Yes. We set up hosting on infrastructure that fits your traffic, monitor it, and ship security and dependency updates on a schedule. If you prefer your own provider, we hand over a documented setup your team can run.
Will the site be accessible and GDPR compliant?
Yes, both are part of the build rather than an audit afterwards. We work to WCAG 2.2 level AA, which the European Accessibility Act has required since June 2025, and we set up analytics, forms and cookie handling so they hold up to a data protection review.
