What does custom software cost?
It depends on how much business logic the system carries, and we price every project on its actual requirements. At Dotbite we run a requirements phase with you first, then quote a fixed price against the written specification. Where we develop a system further over years, a framework agreement can replace quoting each change on its own.
When is custom software worth it over an off-the-shelf tool?
When the workaround starts costing more than the tool saves. Usually that shows up as spreadsheets beside the system, manual steps nobody documented, and processes three people know by heart. If a standard product covers your case, we will tell you that instead of selling a build.
How do you handle integrations with existing systems?
We map what is already there before touching anything, including the systems that were never designed to be integrated with. Most projects we take on involve at least one of those. Where an API is missing, we work with exports, queues or a middle layer that keeps both sides stable.
What if the project turns out bigger than planned?
The specification defines what the fixed price covers. If something new comes up during the build, we price it separately and you decide whether it goes in now or later. Scope changes stay visible instead of quietly consuming the budget.
Who owns the code?
You do. You get the complete IP, full repository, the documentation and the deployment setup. There is no licence fee and no dependency on us to keep it running, though most clients stay for maintenance (SLA) because the team already knows the system.
